The outdoor painter loves Sauvie Island! Several painters from my group have gone there recently and I am hoping to see their results soon. The funny thing about being in a painting group is that we love to be in a group...but we also love to be alone. What happens is that we'll assemble somewhere (as a group) just to split up to paint individually and never see one another again until next time. That's how it goes much of the time.

This is a beautiful piece, Celeste. I wonder how big it is. I love to paint on Sauvie Island. I usually go to the wildlife areas but wish I had access to some of the farms. Where on the island was this painting done?
Hi Bill, it is on the way to Oak Island. I took some artistic license. Thanks for the compliment. 8x8 canvas panel. I used Gamblin's oil ground on the support. I think I like it.
Whoa, I totally love this painting. It's only 8x8? It looks like 24x24. Your blues are incredible..remind me of Theodore Waddell's blues. --deb b
Celeste, I love this painting. The sky really inspires me. Today as we drove home I was looking at the sky thinking about this painting. Now I am into skies!
thanks so much Donna. I have gotten good feedback on this painting! Thanks again.
Beautiful painting. It made me catch my breath!
