Day One.. of The Pacfic NW Plein Air Competition

I arrived at 8:30 am at the Gorge White House for day one of the Pacific NW Plein Air Competition. All the other painters were there too and after getting an orientation and a gift bag from Utrecht filled with nice objects from sponsors, we set about finding something to paint. Bonnie White and I decided that the house itself is a great subject. We stood in the parking lot and responded to the challenge of painting the white house that was largely in shadow. I was pretty happy with my results, but I need to look at it in a day or so to decide if it is completely successful. Tomorrow we'll be at Maryhill Museum...bright and early!
