Woman in a shawl

I got an email today, reminding me of workshops and sessions at Hipbone. I'll sit down one of these days and plan my schedule that will include regular life painting/drawing sessions.
Meanwhile, I painted this tonight from a photo reference. I really liked the gold and purple colors in the fabrics. I just meant to get down the major ideas without getting too fussy. The pose and the mood remind me a little of Eartha Kitt.

Again, I love the color. The touch of green in the skin is inspired.

This has a moody or bluesy quality, definitely.
