Nightfall & Rainfall in the city

It was challenging to paint a night-falling cityscape onto a 5 x 7...in the rain. But, as my painting friend Brooks Hickerson would say...."oh well". Despite the struggle, I am fairly pleased with the results.
(Watch this video..it features Brooks. You'll agree wholeheartedly if you live in Oregon).

Celeste, that was SO FUNNY! I want to go out in the rain and take a bath! (with clothes on of course!)

Hi Celeste,
what a great oil painting, Portland looks very good, i love those worm specks of light on the otherwise dull and wet cityscape. Now I know why they make Gambin colors to lighten up the place overthere!

Good Morning Celeste!.... a little "gem" is this one. I loved the video of rain in Autzen...it really does reinforce my own love of "fowl" weather! Most of the world misses the beauty of thes moments. This video really does demonstrate that comfort is a "state of mind".... and "zen"...as "You" referred to it... is "within"! Good Painting!

I like how you showed the atmospheric depth by the dark buildings in front and lighter in back! Intriguing painting, Celeste!

You really captured the dark and eerie atmosphere that looms over the city at night during a rainfall. The purple tones and murhiness of the scene really capture the essence.
Well done, Celeste
