I am participating in a "RED" show in February. It's fun to have a reason to paint red things. I won't be submitting this, but I also probably wouldn't have painted it like this....were I not thinking about red.
She is definitely red! What a great color to work with and work into your painting! I'm sure you are learning a lot as you paint for this show! Keep up the great work!
Celeste, this is such a fine piece of red work. There is something that strikes me as almost photographic about her skin...I think it is a combination of the brushstrokes and the highlights on her legs/knees that does it. A quite fabulous job, methinks!
It's funny how we often forget that monochromatic work can make a pleasing statement. Thanks for showing this, and I'll be curious to see what you create for the show!

Red is my favourite colour. Great picture. Can't wait to see what you do enter.
I've always found the nuances of value when painting predominantly with red to be one of my biggest color challenges. Have fun! -Don

I hope I didn't call you, Cathy! Sometimes my head doesn't keep up with my fingers, Celeste. Oy!

I like the premise of the pose and the shape of the chair. I think you should give this painting another chance and finish it.
I like this study very much, the fleshy woman with the skeletal chair.
