FAIL

Tonight I attempted to paint the reference photo for the PPASP challenge, "Subject to Interpretations." It was going pretty well when BLAM! I really lost it. You can see that I had the right idea. I wanted to employ a strong shadow design and I succeeded there, but other values went seriously awry! C'est la vie! Tomorrow is another day. Oh, I wanted to also say THANK YOU to all of you who keep up with my blog! I always look forward to your comments. It is motivating to "discuss" things with you...even when I fail. (I don't like posting terrible work..it is hard for me to do!) Well..In keeping with my policy of posting sidetrack photos when I do a crappy painting..I submit for your viewing pleasure......

Top photo: Failed cable car painting, 2. "Hippo Rock" taken during neighborhood walk 3. The contents of my purse dumped out. (yeah. I know). 4. THANK YOU, peeps. You're the best! 5. Daisy the cat takes a siesta

Celeste, you've had an amazingly productive week so you're allowed a bum one! My approach is to keep working on those dogs, sometimes they will actually take you to a new way of thinking.

One of my few life mottoes:
Always make new mistakes.

So you made one. Big deal!! Now give yourself a little relax time!

It looks to me as if it's the upper RH buildings that are "off", It has some appeal, I do like the way the horizontal plane is rendered.

Don't you mean Celeste la vie? Sorry, I had to point out that typo... I know, pretty rude of me. Could I bum one of those fives anyway?

Your so called failure looks like a great start to me. Let it set a bit and return to it. I'm a purple lover, so I like it...

Coming to visit is always fun. Beautiful art and lots of variety.

Have a good day.

Celeste, you are so funny! You had that big ol' box in your purse??? I will say that while I can't quite tell what the painting is, I do love those tall solid, yet nebulous, buildings. I think I shall try clicking on the painting to see if I can see better when it is larger. Since I really don't consider any of my dreck successful, I largely post them for everyone else to feel better about what they do! LOLOL

So, am I to understand that the batch of photos below the painting are to distract the viewers, a little like a magician with sleight of hand??? Good job. I'd rather show a bad painting (and have!) than dump my purse, though--brave woman!

You rock. Keep on keepin' on!

It's nice to see that someone else doesn't always put her money and atm card in a wallet. I like having some fives hiding in my purse or pocket.

Celeste, you are a creative!
1:Your painting has promise, honestly, just set it aside. It's actually a good start, I would not give up or call it failed.(my opinion!)
2:That hippo is neat!
3:(Your purse)What! No girdle!? Ha
I can spot a sharpie a mile away!
4:Your cat has the coolest ears! I love cats! Daisy's the name!? cool
5: And Thank You! For haveing a wonderful blog, and for being a positive influence to all of us! I
look forward to your posts Celeste!

Celeste, one thing I've learned about you is that you know how to fix a painting!! And, you'll do the same here. Sometimes you just have to walk away for awhile, but you already know that. Can't wait to see the "fix." There are already many pleasing elements in this version so you don't have far to go.

You, Celeste are a complete SUCCESS!! I so admire how you just keep pumping out the work- WOW!!! And little Daisy is so cute- in fact I don't even remember now after looking at her what your painting looked like. See- your post worked. Actually- I quite liked your painting start! I look forward to seeing your finish.

Celeste...I don't think your painting is a complete failure. Looks like it could be saved. I can't believe you had all of that in your purse. Must be a big one.

Celeste,

There's something there. Now find it, day 2.

What is it about sleeping cats?
