Took a drive today and brought just a small set of water media supplies along with my sketchbook. Traveling light! ...and what a beautiful day! Several of my tubes of gouache have hardened into rocks...that can happen when you don't use them. The nice thing about working in "unfamiliar" media is realizing that the principles still apply. I wished I had a full complement of paints...but then again I was happy to be out in the sunshine.. sketching Mt. Hood.

ooooh, sunshine, is that that yellow stuff that makes one's skin warm! I am green with envy. A beautiful day and a good result!
Heh, notions can harden into rocks when you don't use your brain too.
Any day spent painting is a good day!! Looks like you had a great one!
it is not easy to paint or draw outside but it is great, i did draw at the beach today, sunny day
i wish i had more experience with watercolors . ( wish?)
good little work by the way .
I love that sense of the mountain floating in the sky, Celeste. Having lived in WA for 12 years, that is just how Mt. Rainier often looked to me. Clouds hung low and obliterated the base quite frequently, causing it to look as though it hovered in the air. What a great day you had!!
Wonderful, Celeste!
There you are! An artist comfortable in any environment. I need to go outside when the weather gets better. Thanks for the inspiration!
Lovely fresh and immediate.
Nice one Celeste
It appears that you paint with your whole arm, not just the wrist. I should follow. Great work.
I hitch hiked to Oregon in 1974 to see my granny in Kalamith Falls.
I was coming up from Sacremento, I saw Mt. Hood early that morning.
All day long it got closer. When I reached Kalamith Falls, I could see it from her back yard.
What a beautiful scene.
I love this painting Celeste!
Lovely sketch
A lovely sketch with a very fresh appearance. Just being outside and not having too many colours led to a succesful experience!
