odd fun

I started a painting over an old painting -- when I realized the books from the previous painting made a keen headdress on the person I had started to paint. Do you see the open book on the left side? Well, it was all so deliciously weird and odd I've elected to leave her here.

Well before anybody else gets to say it let me say this. I love it it reminds me of my visit to the Dali gallery. I just love those happy accidents. While here can I also thank you for all your supportive words and emails you are one in a million.

Oh my gosh, Celeste! You made me laugh right out loud this morning!! LOLOL I thought she had a head full of curlers; so glad to know she is wearing books. I think I might have to give that style a try. Why? Because she looks quite beautiful, full of knowledge, and mysterious all at the same time. If wearing a headdress of books can make one look like that, I am all for it!!

This painting makes me want to just sit and study it. I don't know how you have the tenacity to paint over old paintings. I think I would be totally distracted. I'm glad you decided to stop at this point because it truly is wonderful!

A sort of collage painting - I can relate, my head is full of books.

How wonderful and fun! Great instinct to leave the book headress for who must be a Graduate Student Carmen Miranda.

You found the right place to stop--the most difficult part of painting. Absolutely perfect!

I was just reading how part of painting is to know when to stop!
I think you made a great call on this! It does look interesting.

What a perfect "accident!" It makes for a very interesting piece of work. Glad you stopped painting when you did. I love it!

There's nothing quite so interesting as a happy accident with a painting. This one really works! I like it very much.
