Rooster

Today, during my neighborhood walk, I came across an unexpected "mini-farm". it is not every day that you see a huge turkey in someone's yard! It stopped me in my tracks! A woman came out of her house to tell me that I was welcome to visit closer if I wanted. Ok! I took some photos and asked (gingerly)..."You're not going to eat your turkey....are you?" --"oh, no way", she replied, "he's a pet and very friendly. He loves to show off for the passersby". Well. Yeah. I see that.
Her "Red Jungle" rooster was similarly show-y..... and I knew he'd make an excellent subject for today's painting.

Today, on the 27th day of March, in the year of 2010, I have come across at least 5 chicken paintings. What does this mean? Do I need, in order to break thru to 'real artist' levels, to find a chicken to paint?

Celeste, you amaze me every day. I love the answers to the question "what is Celeste up to today?" I can never anticipate the answer! And this, by the way, is one fine chicken painting!!

Gorgeous Celeste!! I always love your color story and your ability to call up these glorious images. I see him hanging in a fabulous, old mansion.

An immortalized rooster, wonderful attitude. My friend Ellen lives in Ladd's addition there, there is one yard in one of the alleys that has chickens.

Oh how I love your amazing powerful rooster. This is a rooster of magesty and power and he most certainly rules his 'girls' in the chicken yard.
I thought WOW ROOSTER when I saw this today. You are amazing! Love this!
My roosters would not last a minute in that chicken yard.
Aren't they a great subject with so much colour and great lines?

There is action and drama in this!
that rooster is strutting proud, as
they do!
Your use of color brings this to life.
Very fun piece Celeste!
