Sometimes you just have to paint something that is a bit "much". What's the point of being an oil painter if you don't go for the occasional big over-the-top scene? It is a rite of passage..yes?

Sometimes life is operatic! Like this bold scene. I like the brazen color, interesting shapes, and eye-poppingness of it. But, I also like opera! Well done!

I think the 'bit much' is just right. This is beautiful, Celeste. I think the strong colors that may feel a bit much are balanced by the values and composition so they sing without overwhelming.
Is is sort of operatic. A little Wagnerian in his lighter moments!
I love it. This painting gives me a feeling in my gut. The feeling one feels when spotting a rainbow. You know you could never paint it but you want to.
