The Mountain...a favorite subject

It's been 34 years since I moved to Oregon....and during that time I have never felt complacent about Mt. Hood. Every time I look at it--I think--I live in the prettiest place on the planet!

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Mt.Hood from the North Side, Oil on canvas panel, 9x12 inches. ©2010.

... and you've captured it quite nicely.

34 years you hardly look old enough to have been around that long. I love mountains as you know. I love them with a passion and you have captured the essence of this beauty.

Makes me swoon to share this delightful sight, Celeste. A beautiful painting! I felt much the same when I lived in WA and got to see Mt. Rainier every day! Love your palette here...that blue-green in the center is just divine!

I love what you do with paint and a brush with so few strokes. (At least that is what it seems to me.) And oh what a lovely mountain.
