Life painting session..."Kira"

I think I got a pretty good likeness of our model today. I am hoping that she is going to model for us next week so I can paint her red cleopatra hairstyle again. She was a joy to paint--an exceptional model.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Kira Portrait, Oil on canvas panel, 20 x 16 inches. ©2010.
Oil Sketch: Celeste Bergin, Kira figure, Oil on canvas panel, 12 x 16 inches. ©2010.

Lovely Celeste!

Great job capturing the color of her hair. I've become a bit of an expert on red hair having an 11-year-old coppertop running around the house...

Lovely! For how long did she pose? I know that you're able to paint very quickly.

The face is so lovely. You put a lot of personality into this portrait!I can understand that you want to play with those reds some more!

The face is beautifully modeled and all of the planes (almost said "plains") are indicated by light or temperature changes. Very nice!
