Sketching and painting--on Tuesday!

Some of us stayed after the usual Tuesday art discussion for sketching in O'Connor's Annex. It rained pretty steadily today, but I swung by the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens and painted a small oil plein air sketch during one sun break. See what others did here.

As always, I adore all your work, Celeste. But there is something about those S & P shakers that just appeals to me...Nostalgia? Breakfast out in one of the smaller, divier places that seem to have the best food? The warmth of the colors reminding me of home and safety? I don't know, but I sure like it!

Yes! Very nice "artist" life. What could be better!

Great sketches! I love the directional lines you used around the shakers and the values you chose for the wash. Nice job!

I think Crystal Springs is a hard place to paint, but you did a nice sketch there!

Sorry I missed the fun. Kvan
