Interviewed for by KGW news at "The Canvas Art Bar & Bistro"

Participants attending Monday night's "Costumed Model Session" at the Canvas Art Bar & Bistro were surprised by a visit from KGW News. Watch Joe Smith interviewing us here:

It was fun to be on the news! Thanks to KGW for getting the word out about our favorite place to go on Monday evenings. The Canvas is not just for painters/sketchers, ANY type of creativity is welcomed and encouraged. So...put it on your calendar (every Monday 7:00 pm) and we'll see you there.

This is the painting that Joe Smith likened to Lady Gaga. I took it as a compliment. The model Desiree did a fantastic job. It could not have been an easy task to stay still in that pose, she was perfect.

Oil Sketch: Celeste Bergin, Lady Desiree, 2010, Oil on stretched canvas 11 x 14 inches.

Desiree also had a black elastic headband that she donned for the last pose. I especially enjoyed painting her black hair.

To see what the other artists did go HERE.

Great interview, and fun to see you "in person!" I love your paintings, Celeste. What a great event to look forward to every week. I love your compatriot's remark about drinking and drawing--loose paintings, indeed!

Absolutely beautiful work, Celeste. This place just seems to be such a wonderful idea. Wish there was something similar here!

Hi Celeste,
a bar for drinking and painting - that's a very nice idea. It was fun to see that video.

With creative greetings
Nicole

This is too much fun. A great thrill to see you and your peers at work, except it looks like more fun than work. You come across really well, and it appears by the results (Desiree) that you did "loosen up."

All kidding aside, that second picture is just fabulous. I am ever your admirer, and you are practically the world's best oil sketcher, IMHO.

I would comment more on the earlier pic, which is very good, but I don't know what Lady Gaga looks like.

Celeste- what I most enjoyed was the reaction the interviewer had when he saw your work. Did you notice how his WOW went through a few octaves and his body posture completely changed. It was awesome to see his reaction because I got the impression it was how we react here when we see your work. It's undefinable and masterful and so YOU!!!
You've got a terrific group of artists that you "play" with- I'm envious. I so enjoyed seeing you in person- you are exactly how I imagined you to be- generous, friendly, forthright. Wonderful!
