My day..........and how was yours??

For painting practice today I painted a crow onto a new surface..just a exercise. I often think it would be fun to paint a lot of things in only black and white. I'll do that one day.

I signed a lot of paintings in the late afternoon. (I'm getting ready for next Friday and Saturday's Art in the Heart/Art on the Boulevard outdoor art event). There will be many paintings there that have appeared in my blog..so if you have coveted something..why not come out next Friday or Saturday to buy it at "festival pricing!" (yes! that means lower than usual)
I tried to familarize myself with the tent today in the back yard....I've never put it up before and I managed a dry run. Putting that sucker up is not as "E-Z" as I thought it would be, but I liked how the sun shined through the white sidewalls.

What did you work on today?

Hey Celeste,
I worked on cleaning up my messy studio. :)

Wish I could come out to support you at the festival! Those EZ tents never are easy! From experience, give yourself about 2 hours to set up and about 30 minutes to strike! And some extra hands too!

Wishing you much success at the event!

I so enjoy your painting style...the crow is fab...
Praying for you at the outdoor show; those usually go in one of two directions, with little gray area in between.
As for my activities, it's all in my latest bedtime story, complete with grandbaby pix ~

Gosh, Celeste! I so wish I could come out and visit! I wish you much success this weekend, my friend. I love the crow (Poe is screaming in my head, "Nevermore! Nevermore!")! I hope you've resolved the car issue. We got my daughter in a 'new' used car yesterday. Replaced that worry with one of her fiance not being happy about her having a car payment. But the car comes with a 2 year warranty and she has to have a car. Anyway, just a wee bit of an update for you and I wanted you to know that you've been in my thoughts and cares too!

I sometimes need 4 hours to load in, tent up, hang and sign everything. And my set up is simple. That's working alone. With help, it sometimes takes longer.

Tip: I attach the walls and roll them up if wanted, before I extend the tent to full height.

Have fun and no rain!

I like your blogging style a lot. Your paintings are fabulous and your steadiness is inspirational. Today I organized parts of my studio. We're leaving town for a couple of weeks on Wed. so I'll miss your show. Maybe I'll see you Monday night at The Canvas?

I like the way you paint, paint, and then paint some more! That is so important and you inspire me to squeeze out some paint and get going.

what did I do today? Went to the beach and used our EZ tent to sit under and read. At least I think it's probably the same kind of tent you have . . .

Celeste, I love that crow. There is something powerful about indication, as opposed to rendering. Any one can render (with enough time). Indication is the beating heart of artistic expression. Nice bird.

What a wonderful job on the crow! Today I painted from 7:30am to 8:00pm. I am getting ready for a show in September, so the crunch is on!!!
Here's wishing you great weather and lots of sales at your outdoor festival.
