This is my submission into the Mayor's Invitational 2011 (painted with "intentional whimsey")
Painting: Celeste Bergin, Summer Fields, 40 x 30 Acrylic on gallery wrap canvas
(Charles Sovek 1937 - 2007 was wonderful at producing a painting with charm. Whenever I start taking myself too seriously, I look at his paintings).

This is so appealing and delightful! And then it becomes very interesting. You're a natural story-teller. If I were a kid, I'd love this. Wait. I AM a kid... and I love it!
Wow--can you ever channel! I absolutely love this exciting work (we've seen touches of it before). This sings. Now I have to google Charles Sovek.
Hey, this one looks like a fun one! Love the colors and the whimsical feel to it. Finally, got to see one of your works in person down at Matthew's Galleries. Very nice, pictures don't do the really thing justice!
What a wonderful painting! I love the colors and sense of movement, playfulness. The colors remind me a little of some of Kandinsky's landscapes before he went entirely abstract.
Fun and joyful and bright and free! I love it!
Sound advice and gorgeous painting Celeste. Then no surprise that. I love all your work (and that is why I follow your blog!)!!
Beautiful lively colors, and texture too - stunning!!
