I'm super grateful to the outdoor painters I met when I first started painting..I am pretty sure I would never have understood warm and cool relationships very well without dragging all my stuff outside to continually try to "see it". The rocky coast is an unparalleled opportunity to evaluate the differences between warm and cool. I got most of it right in this study.Oil Study: Celeste Bergin, Oregon Coast, oil on 8x8 canvas panel

Bravo Celeste--You have to be there--can't make this stuff up--outstanding, fresh, vigorous. Bravo. Incredible! Wm
stunning :) love!
You got most of it right. Celeste I think you got all of it right I really do love this seascape it is so full of atmosphere.
You sure did, Celeste. This is beautiful and the colors simply sing! Such clarity...something I see when on the PNW coast.
I look forward to seeing this, as my son has now moved to Portland. I can tell that the sun is behind you. We do not that view on the Atlantic coast. Nice light!
amazing painting
I love your rocks and waves, have also been studying the sea for a while.
Amazing! You have to make this big, as well. No question about it. The way you've chosen the different elements, and where they are, is just grand. I can't say enough good about this!
Celeste! Total grand slam!! This looks as good as anything could, WOW:)
I really like how your view from above gives this scale and shows more color in the water.
Interesting what Dan said about having the sun at your back on the west coast. It is a totally different perspective on the light.
Yep- you got it right! My favorite thing about your work Celeste is the abstracted quality juxtaposed with realism. You do it in an exemplary manner.
I agree with Casey on the size! Looks like you nailed the cool/warm relationships down! I still struggle with that.
Hi Celeste.
Excellent, as always.
I hope you have a weekend off-creative :)
