Clouds

I painted this from a previous plein air painting. The square format is so popular....with everyone. This is painted on a 1/2 inch birch panel. I used a warm ground and let it show through.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Sky Memories, oil on 8 x 8 birch panel

Gorgeous! A lovely use of complementary orange and blue... my favorite. Ethereal, timeless, beautiful.

Celeste, this is just gorgeous. It reminds me of so many photos I've taken from the car window when I want to capture beautiful skies.

Well done on the color relationships. I had to force myself away from the square a couple of years ago to get my landscapes to read more like landscapes.

Those 8x8's! I do not know how many I have sold last year. They took off suddenly and the popularity is worldwide.I have not attempted any landscapes yet! Yours is lovely, Celeste!

I love how the warm ground makes the clouds arc overhead. It also gives good cheer.

Just wow. And I notice you've tried gray and are now back to the white background for your blog.

Hi Anthony, PAMO, Mariano, Dan, WILLIAM WRAY (!),rama,Sherry, Casey, Marie, SKIZO, SamArtDog, and Hallie! thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment...I very much appreciate your kind words. Hallie, I thought I was going to HAVE to change my template in order to use the new Blogger editor...so I spent a couple hours looking at the new templates. They are really nice....but I wound up preferring the white background. Am I in a rut? haha! I just like it.
Thanks again all! :)

p.s. All I had to do is tic something in my dashboard about accepting the "new blogger editor"..and luckily they have that option of reverting to your old design if you decide that's what you want. Blogger is so good to us!
