O'Connor's --"eight+"

Today was change-the-art day for "eight+" at O'Connor's.  It is always fun to see what the other participants came up with to show for the month...(we never know until installation day).  My goal with my painting was to create a stylized night scene with several different elements (some specific and some ambiguous). After the meeting we went to Carolyn's for the "meeting after the meeting". (A chance to have another cup of coffee and to paint the items on the table). To see what everyone did, go HERE.

When I saw the teaser for this painting in yesterdays post I was cautiously optimistic ... Today I say WOW. This is unquestionably a show stopper. Great work Celeste!

This looks fantastic--the restaurant might want to keep it. I still think of "Batman."

Wow, Celeste! This piece really packs a punch now that I see it in its entirety! What a beautiful piece of work. It looks awesome on the walls of O'Connor's too.

It looks sooo good on the wall there, that they may keep it :) And those chocolates and flowers - have to pop over and see what you all painted or sketched from your meeting :)

Lovely painting with vibrant colors that do many one think of Batman and Dick Tracy. I like the Daffodils too. Looks like you gals had fun on the dining room table.

"Flare" is a stunning painting. The geometry of the piece, the complimentary colors, the motion of the cars and stillness of the man, dusk - I think - mysterious as that time always is.

I see you made your decisions and ended up hanging this beautifully dramatic piece. You're quite good at painting darker hours. The colors and the values all work so well.

What a great painting! I love how you combined the representational with the abstract. Wonderful color choices.
