Cafe revisited

I believe that I can fully acknowledge that I am a sucker for high contrast situations. This is a painting based on a previous painting.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Cafe II, oil on 9x12 canvas panel

Oooooh! Like it. The light streaming in through that window really gives it atmosphere.

Just as awesome as the first time I saw this scene. Truly beautifully painted, Celeste.

The first thing I thought of was being in a cool, dark coffee house on a hot and bright summer day. Great results!

I have tried to do this kind of backlit figurative painting using silhouette but I never like how it turned out; Never as well as this.
