I went to the
Lake Oswego Festival of Arts today (great show!) ...and I took a break at a Starbucks, taking up residence for a little while in cushy leather chair to sneakily sketch some people. Isn't it nice that Starbucks provides such nice seating and interesting people to draw. I like the Pitt pens that I bought recently.
Now what about YOU..did you have a good Sunday? Were you involved in anything artful today?

Great sketches! You definitely capture their unique personalities. Do people ever get annoyed when they see you sketching them?
Merci pour cet aparté de votre vie... et vos croquis. J'aime aussi utiliser à mes heures les crayons Pit... histoire de délier le poignet et de prendre sur le vif des sujets.
Gros bisous
Hi Celeste. It is always fun observing and sketching people, I often do the sketching in the tram in Milan, which is difficult, because it is so small, I don't really want the person to realize I am sketching them, so most of the time I end up doing somebody reading :-)
Nicely done, Celeste. The top lady looks like my husband's sisters (at least two of them, anyway). I wish I could loosen up and just draw. I'm always so danged tightfisted when it comes to even sketching.
Really nice "in the moment" sketches, Celeste!
I have sketched people on different occasions...I tended to feel a bit bashful/guilty, though. I know it's something I should just get over and do a lot more sketching.
I have Pitt Pens too, and love 'em.
Hi, Celeste,
I like your B&W! U're so gorgeous in the photo. Good on ye! I still do not like a pen. Aahaha, I went to a "pub" and sketched people, as you already saw at my blog. Let's enjoy our lives fully!! Have a wonderful week.
Cheers&smile,Sadami
Nice work, Celeste. We often go to the many art festivals here in Florida. BTW, Coffee is life! :)
Love your sketches, Celeste!
Ah...so fresh and immediate - I LOVE them!
The local coffee house,(Wilde roast) just moved a few blocks, and now overlooks St, Anthoney Falls and Nicollet Island. I will give this a try. Sounds fun!
Sketching is something I mean to do more than I do!
Great post Celeste! Your sketches
can be future paintings.
Hah! Ain't it wonderful?! Great sketches! I like the idea of using grey and black.
Great sketches. One day, I'm going to the bar and sketch Happy Hour. (We don't have a coffee house.)
Drinking coffee and sketching, what a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Your sketches show your pleasure.
Nice observations.
When I was growing up, there was a man who was obviously dragged to church by his wife, and he sketched everyone in the congregation. He never shared his portraits, but I spied one of me once over his shoulder. It seemed like the perfect way to act up in church without making a sound.
