Warm and Cool

I nearly did not blog this painting...but it has grown on me. Do you ever "almost not blog" a painting...because it is "too" something?.......too weird, too undone, too overdone too-too-too?  Some artists never share their "too" paintings, they will only blog the paintings they feel very certain about. And, where is the fun in that?
.............What's on your art docket?
Painting: Celeste Bergin, Warm and Cool, oil on 9x12 stretched canvas

If I didn't put paintings online that were "too", I would never post at all! This is really cool - love how you experiment. Matisse colors. Fun! And interesting..

The way the temperatures are "wrong" is what makes this painting so enjoyable for me. He radiates and moves around...cool!

Gros bisous

I think it is a brilliant portrait, Celeste. And it offers interest as well with the color (and style).

That sounds awkward. I'm working on a sinus headache and can't think straight. I love the painting!

Everything I show is questionable!

I do like the concept a lot on this one (I am working with warm and cool colors myself). So much fun:)

I agree with Dan. I've never not blogged a painting. This one is different for you. You pushed the colors and something very interesting and exciting happened. I like it. It would make me stop and look--muted, I would walk on by.

I think this is terrific and I almost recognize him. I want to see more of your "too" paintings. I wonder if this is what a color negative might look like--it is the opposite of how one thinks of warm and cool colors.
