Green Pot

I just acquired five new pieces of pottery from the Columbia Art Gallery 2nds sale. (I can't find any imperfections in the 2nds and they are beautiful shapes to consider)! This studio still life is about 3/4's of the way finished.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Still life, oil on 24x18 canvas panel

WOW..are you sure you need to do anything further to it? Doesn't it look exactly right where it is? I love it!

Celeste, I find this one of these most beautiful still lifes ever. I love the green vase and the other choices you made in the set up are amazing with it. I get a sense of the heady autumn aromas, think leaves outside and Thanksgiving dinner smells, and a sense of old time homes in the northeast. I don't know why; it would be scary to wander the maze of my mind, I s'pose. LOL Anyway, this is gorgeous, really!

As usual I am behind - you are so prolific, and this has been a very busy week. I have visited your blog daily though, but commenting on my phone is touchy.

This painting is stunning - if you hadn't told me I'd think it was finished. Phenomenal still life. I once read that the most successful still lives seem to move. This moves!

Catching up: I love Tuesday's painting. Great black gesso sketch on Wednesday - I drop all kinds of color into my watercolors, and they are just sucked up. It's one reason why I sometimes doubt the medium. The Cat Blanket is so cool! I am amazed that there are not more days like this for you-every day you seem to crank something out worth posting. And Friday, your paint sketches = my paintings. :)

The blue green and burgundy played against cream and white is gorgeous Celeste. The pottery is too beautiful to be called pottery; in this painting it looks like an Art Deco vaz, (vase with attitude). And I agree with Dan, I would never had guessed this wasn't finished.
