After Thanksgiving dinner (and the ensuing clean-up) I wanted to spend just a little time on some painting practice.....I painted this floral on a printed page (and the headline seems suitable for today!) It is enjoyable to paint on this "unlikely" surface.
(By the way, an interesting side note, did you know the uber-famous painting The Scream was painted on cardboard?)

This is a wonderful concept Celeste!--and Happy Thanksgiving
Practice? This is GREAT!
Excelente!...
Abrazos,Celeste.
Celeste, this is such a cool piece and adds a whole new level of interest to the piece. I also loved the slide show of your family and would love to see more. I look forward to the update. I know you are missing family right now, as are many of us. Your after the meeting sketches are fabulous too! I love when you guys get together to paint. Each piece is a delight and I've seen so much growth in Carrie's work since you started. I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving and I'm so thankful for having today off of work too. I get way too run down!
Great little painting! Wonderful composition and color choices, and I think it looks great on this background.
Lovely fresh painting. I love seeing the print behind it.
Don't you find that amazing that - that some works were painted on cardboard? and they have lasted? I know many of Toulouse-Lautrec's works were on cardboard and hanging in museums today. Amazing ... not sure it they have just been well taken care of or just that cardboard was/is a good support.
Celeste! Would we call this a screaming subliminal inbed?!(ha)
The painting looks great! I like how it looks as though you stopped painting to snap a pic! It shows this as an idea.
Just beautiful!
And, no, I had no idea..quite interesting.
Yes, and the Scream has some pastel, also. I just watched a BBC series on Munches iconic work. I recommend it.
Very appealing image, Celeste!
Love your colors and amazing values. simply wonderful all around!
I know you can paint but I am shocked that you had time and energy AFTER clean-up from Thanksgiving. It's now Friday evening and I'm still cleaning up.
This is a good floral. Inspiring
I did not paint after Thanksgiving dinner. I will pull out the sketchbook today so that I can feel I did something artwise.
