I've done some cat-sitting for a friend for a couple of weeks. Maxine the cat would not let me pet her until just a couple of days ago. It's such a nice thing to finally become friends with Maxine!

This has a pastel feel to it. It also evokes a purr when I look at it.
Yet the pose seems to show a more
cautious or awareness, the opposite of purring.
How did it work out with your other cats? I hope there wasn't any fighting!
Maxine looks like a Russian Blue, do you know what breed she is?
I resently got an abandoned kitten.
She is a Russian Blue, and a great
curiosity for Meowie,(my other cat)
I call her Blue.
Joan Jet rocks too!
Delicate and nice..love cats
Good to see you are still producing marvellous art. Happy New Year to you and yours
I'm seeing a bit of a shift in your palette of late, my friend. It is so delightful! You did an awesome job on Maxine! I love the light and color in this piece.
Sweet baby! You managed to make her look like a cat but not like a cat painting. Know what I mean? LOL! Glad the cat sitting is working out:)
Love the colors in this painting Celeste - your feline friend is so cute!
No doubt in my mind, Maxine is a tortoise shell calico. excellent handling of he fur and catitude.
There's a "real cat" feel to this. The softness....the pose. I really like it. That's what painting from life can make possible.
You have immortalized Maxine beautifully! I love those splashes of pure color throughout. I feel the love.

This is wonderful, love the colors you used all around.
I'm glad you've made a cat friend! Lovely painting of her, too.
Slow to warm up cats like Maxine are always my favorites. A great capturing of her spirit.
Happy 2012!
Excellent use of color!!!
Love the color! I think the best part is the way the color is handled..that softer wiped part really makes it have magic.
