I painted this today from a photo reference. I was drawn to the strong and interesting shapes and I had black and white paint out from a couple days ago. I also started a new project today, a big canvas. I can't post anything from it until it starts making sense...(and that's a ways off!)

This is cool! I love the composition

The black and white to gray values just add a richness to the almost haughty pose of the model. I think this is strong and truly beautiful!
Love your idea for this unruly head of mine. It is currently...fluorescent would be apt. I contacted a Redken color specialist and hope she'll fix this to the way I wanted it. She didn't sound too keen so that means I have to try myself. That is the scary part. My hair is a palette, it seems.
There are a lot of great shapes there; she looks very statuesque!
I always love your black and white studies.
I love this painting for the same reason as you...the strong features!
