Sunday .....!

I didn't paint today, but I sorted through some of my old work. About 85% of my old paintings need to be discarded! The painting above, however, won't meet that fate...it is one of  my favorite early paintings. I painted it out of my cigar box pochade while sitting on my bed. There's my orange nylon jacket and my red sweater.

Say, did you know author Henry Miller was a watercolorist? I like the paintings in this video (below). Looks to me like he thoroughly enjoyed painting...... his work was colorful and playful.

"Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself".----Henry Miller

What a lovely neat closet! I love neat! Glad you aren't tossing this one, Celeste. It is a place in time that is cool to see and gives rise to thoughts (for me) of what you were thinking, where you were at in life. I love it! Loved the video of Miller's work too.

I like the economy of this one. Only what’s needed nothing else.

Thanks for posting the Henry Miller video. It reminds me of an experience I had years ago. Too long to explain in comments, maybe I'll save it for my own blog. and...wow, 85%? That is a true testament to your output.

85%! You're really critical, which is a good quality I guess.
Love the orange vs grey in this painting.
I'm curious how you recycle your throwaway paintings, do you shred them, sandpaper and reprise? I've seen you paint over an old painting before.
