Today I visited with George Broderick in Rainier. We went to lunch at a Mexican Restaurant, next to the river. After lunch we went back to the Gallery where we had coffee, I got to see George's new work and a very cool book about Cuba. It was a visual extravaganza sort of day....
Perusing a photography book about Cuba
Frida Kahlo chair at the Restaurant
(And when you leave George always "walks you out".... He's a classy guy)!
See you next time, George :)

I really like this painting. So much atmosphere!
Hi Celeste,
I hate to repeat myself, (though I'm at the age where it's almost expected!) but it's truly amazing how you achieve such a sense of deep space and grandeur on such a small canvas.
As I looked at the painting prior to dropping down to see the canvas size, I was thinking it must be in the 24 x 30-inch range. What a surprise to see the true dimensions!
Brava, Celeste!
Sincerely,
Gary.
What a breathtaking piece, Celeste! I'm starting to feel like I kind of know George too. LOL He sounds like a good friend to you. A visual extravaganza kind of day indeed!
That is absolutely gorgeous! The dark wine red colour behind the trees is working wonderfully. Great technique.
Happy Painting,
Nora
Awesome painting! Has that spark of sponteneity.
Great light and value Love the looseness and brush work.
the painting is a good one.
passionate and alive.
and the chair's picture is wonderful.
hug.
A great sketchy feeling to this painting, i love it! Very loose and confident. Great sky too!
I have heard nothing but good things about George and must meet him soon. Thanks for sharing.
Nice looseness in this painting, Celeste. It looks like you switched up the method of application. Brush, palette knife, toothpick, elbow? Fun! I know that with you anything is possible. Hope your show at the bank goes well.
The painting is stunning ! Good luck with the bank exhibition.
Happy New Year Celeste!
The energy in that landscape is amazing. I love it!
I want to start the year off by saying you are an inspiration and a go to place for creative enjoyment.
I get cool ideas over here!
Celeste...this is a SERIOUSLY fine painting in the impressionistic style!
A few thousand more, please...Lol.
Your show will be incredible with art as this - nice Celeste!
Only five days into the new year and you've painted a cat, a nude, and now a blustery day on the river--all wonderful. I just can't keep up.
Love your painting! Really lovely. Would enjoy seeing others in your exhibit. Good luck with your show!! (Untill Feb 2, 2011??? :-) )
Sounds like George is a good friend and fun to share a great day with. The Frida Kahlo chair would be fun to have.
