Friday at Kat Sowa's Studio

Craig Srebnik did a painting demonstration at Kat's today and afterwards some painters went outside to paint plein air (...the weather turned nice). A few of us stayed inside to work in the studio. Our artist friend Jodi Burton modeled for us. This portrait isn't altogether finished...but I'll make some adjustments tomorrow. To see about our day at Kat's go HERE.

Paintng: Celeste Bergin, Jodi, oil on 12x16 canvas panel

Oh my! Jodi is beautiful and I so want that head of hair!! Gorgeous work, Celeste! I really do look forward to seeing this one finished. Turns out my insurance will not cover the cholesterol med so no worries about the statins in the end. Thanks for the heads up though. I'm going to read up on them.

Just now beginning to catch up with blogs since my trips. As always, I enjoy seeing what you have done. Jodi seems to be a good model with some great hair. I like your portrait of her.

Sorry I didn't get to see you when in Portland (which I love, btw!). We were there for 2 days and my time was not my own. However, we are going back at some time and soon I hope! And the next trip will be longer and will be more of a vacation. We will definitely get together! I look forward to meeting you and seeing your work in person!! :-)

Superb portrait Celeste. Her hair is wonderful. Feels very colourful even though there is lots of black and white. Fab.
