(Top Photo) Oil Sketch: Celeste Bergin, Madeline, oil on 9x12 printed paper.
In other news I went to Quin Sweetman's reception in Cathedral Park tonight. Great to see Quin's plein air paintings in such a nice atmosphere and to visit with friends, new and old.

I love the close in portrait; such a strong piece and the paper lends much to that strength, I think. You stay so busy with your art, Celeste. I am quite envious. I'm missing something within, I suspect.
There is not much more than an eye...but what an eye!!!
That eye caught my attention too. Great lighting caught in that gaze. I agree with CrimsonLeaves, you are incredibly busy with art affairs. My museum jaunt and the MI competition fed my soul for quite a while--well until the art shows at Cranbrook begin in May--and there's one at the College of Creative Studies too,the source of my knowledge. But you are in the in group of Portland, and from what I can tell from your blog, Portland has an impressive art community.
Me gustan esas firmes pinceladas azules, que manifiestan una gran expresión en la mirada (incompleta, pero mirada al fin), y ese fondo como de papel de diario, que lo hace muy creativo.
Abrazos miles, Celeste.

I like those strong blue brush strokes, which show a great expression in her eyes (incomplete, but look at last), and the ground as newsprint, which makes it very creative.
Hugs thousands, Celeste
