Tuesday~!

This is a study.  I used only three colors, raw umber, manganese blue and white. The darks are all intentionally linked together in a large shape. I'm thinking about painting a larger version of this. So, that's my Tuesday....what about yours......was it art-ful?

Celeste, I first say a thumbnail of this in my reader, and the way you connected the darks created some confusion/interest. I couldn't tell what it was immediately, but I wanted to keep looking at it. I call that a success.

PS. I did art today, too. A 5-hour charcoal drawing. I'm coming down from it right now :o)

Gros bisous

i know this is going to turn out to be another great singing in the rain painting by you. I am working on the fence in my garden creating a wall of art. Will post when further along.

A beautiful painting that could illustrate my day on Tuesday that just ended, as the rain was there!
In my case it was a day of happiness interspersed in the workshop and annoying tasks of everyday life, they were only slightly more that day! ...

I like this girl who is slim this umbrella against all odds ... A kind of successful control of life ... A beautiful sentiment.

Thanks, Martine!

Stylish-I really like this! It would definitely make a beautiful larger piece. Love the focus on what has been my favorite part of so many of your paintings. I had an artful morning with a tree, grass, and sky - a picture I can't wait to finish but it will probably not be until next week since I am leaving town for a few days.

I love the sense of her being buffeted by the winds and fighting to hold that umbrella. If that doesn't look like commuters in downtown Chicago, I don't know what does! LOL It is fabulous!

I have had a week away from paint I have been running and running but now need to get back to real life and stop running away. I love the painting.

I like the flow of the lines - there's a harmony between line and colour that is appealing.

Tuesday? I finished Richmond Castle, but was disappointed with the photograph - half the shading disappears with the reduction in size

Hi Celeste,
Thanks for visiting and your sweet comment!

I really love this painting concept. I think the silhouette is great. I do hope you do another.

I love this use of color, I think a larger version will look fabulous ... well I like the large format because it seems easier to give details.

Beautiful--I hope we'll soon see a larger painting.

A sort-of aftful day yesterday; I set up an album of paintings & sculptures on my iPad (can be used as slideshow). I'm ready for upcoming Sunday afternoon exibit at our local MacCallum More Museum & Gardens. I'll be hanging out with my iPad and a few paintings in the Garden--hope it's not 90 degrees.
