Sunday...Happy Father's Day

I spent a good part of Father's day at the Portland Art Museum at the California Impressionism exhibit and the Ellsworth Kelly exhibit. In the afternoon I attended a lecture about Impressionism by Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum. Many of my plein air pals were in the audience. The exhibits are wonderful and the lecture was great too. (Slideshow below)

(I'm super-pleased to be among the plein air painters selected to paint in the Oregon Invitational Plein Air paint out this summer, 8/4 and 8/5/12 in the Portland Art Museum South Park Blocks).

Hoping you had a very Happy Father's Day!

Your dad is handsome, Celeste! Pretty mom, handsome dad, beautiful daughter. Just the way it works. Your day sounds fabulous. Mine was spent at the hospital and sewing. Your day sounds way more fun.

Your dad was certainly a handsome man.

Loved the slide-show and particularly liked; the boats in the harbour; the woman shielding her eyes from the sun and the woman with the fan.

Yes, a very attractive father.

Kelly's work looks good when you see a number of them hung together. Individually, they look like color exercises. He must have had a good story to tell.
