Day Three, Sakura Ridge, September 2, 2012

I selected this yesteryear-workhorse of a truck at Sakura Ridge as my painting subject today. In the early afternoon it was so windy my supplies kept blowing away and my pochade box was being buffeted around like there was no tomorrow....(but luckily there is a tomorrow.....day four!) Each day has been so much FUN!

To see a slideshow of Day three of the Plein Air Competition & Event...go HERE. (Two more days to go!)

Hi, Celeste,
I love this truck so much! (*I'm not good at a car!) Interesting, your car looks like a person -- I mean it has a personality.
Cheers, Sadami

These last three paintings have been really first-class, Celeste.

I had just been listening on the car radio to, 'The Grapes of Wrath'; this old truck you painted put me in mind of the family escaping the dust-bowl of the Oklahoma disaster: en-route by an old truck to California. (I love John Steinbeck's stuff)

Beautiful work, more so considering that the inclement weather! :)
Your day-2 paintings are also lovely.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh I do so love trucks and boats and old car paintings! You've handled this marvelously, Celeste! My kind of painting for sure!

Great perspective. I like how you handled the whole thing. The slide shows show off these nice locations.

postscript, I was planning to get there, but I didn't manage it. The Monday park seems easier to find. I'll find you before Tues.

Wonderful old truck done with confidence of skills. What a nice (and productive) holiday you're having. Your work shows your pleasure.

Gorgeous! You've found the perfect shade of red for the body and I love the touch of blue in the grill as well :)
