Friday at Heron Lakes Golf Course

Carrie & I drove over to Heron Lakes Golf Course this morning to paint with Za, Cathleen, Dave and Quin. It was a gray day, but Heron Lakes is a pretty place and we had a great time visiting with each other as well as the golfers who were making the turn from the front nine to the back nine. Paintings from the day HERE and in Slideshow below:

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Willow near the 10th hole, oil on 9x12 canvas panel

Looks like a Weeping Willow ... lovely painting, I really like it. It makes me hum some ballet music:-

I have a Weeping Willow, I call her Wendy. Each year I cut her trailing branches about six feet above the ground. When the wind blows, the branches bob up and down like the dresses, in the Dance of the Cygnets, in 'Swan Lake'

I wrote a short (fiction) story about it and it got published (didn't pay very well though :0) )

I think you've captured the grace and beauty of the willow so perfectly, Celeste! And what a fun outing with your local artist friends!

A beautiful spot. A beautiful palette you selected. You do get me so jealous of your access to comrades with shared interests.

Sometimes when I'm golfing, I think...I should be painting. So much more productive than double bogeys. Nonetheless I have to say that I probably would end up on the putting green if I went to a golf course to paint. Thanks Celeste, Great work as usual.

My dear Celeste I'm very happy to meet you ... Long weeks away from the world of the blogosphere ... Thank you for your kind gesture of friendship and loyalty in reading your nice message. I'm sure you had to spend some quality time surrounded by friends paint painters ... The result is in my eyes ... that happiness in this last painting. I wish you a great end to the weekend

(Thanks Martine! Welcome back from your travels!)

Thanks so much for your comments John, Sherry, hmuxo, Linda, Dean Sheryl, Martine and Kevin! :)

So jealous!, Your field trips are fantastic, I can see that you pass it very well, I would love to be with you but unfortunately I live a bit far, jjj
I, so far, always go out alone, but you have given me
great idea to propose several friends painters form a small group like you. It's great for sharing the day cheerfully while learning from each other.
The lake is beautiful and your tree is very very nice, I love it.

A kiss from Spain, Celeste.

(thank you Victor!)

What a wonderful experience it must have been to paint in that beautiful setting. Your work is lovely, especially the way you indicated the movement of the willows.
Thanks for adding One A Day to your blog list. I've reciprocated, with pleasure. It's nice to have you as a new friend.
