........Sketches

Sketching at Carolyn's house was never a serious thing, we'd talk a streak while we sketched and I often wound up drawing Carolyn's shoes. (She has some cute ones). Well, if I want to examine Carolyn's footwear in the future I'll have to travel to Washington, DC....because she is moving there. With any luck we can go see her and visa versa...the world is a much smaller place than it used to be, and there is always Skype too. Maybe we can sketch/Skype. It's a thought. I'm going to miss her!

(sketches: Celeste Bergin, assorted shoes, pen, watercolor, gouache, acyrlic)

Carolyn was drinking from the Bee cup today. She said it was her reward for working so hard! She deserved it today.

ah....the Bee cup! She should let US take care of it!

The world is indeed a much smaller place. I once shared an afternoon painting with another artist in Canada using webcams. It was an interesting experience. Friendship of course knows no boundaries.

I am so sorry one of your friends is moving away, Celeste. I always enjoyed Carolyn's, Carrie's, and Celeste's sketches from "after the meeting." I love all the shoes you've done too. I hope Carolyn's move goes easy for her and her family.

We women need a lot of shoes. I try to explain that to the men in my life. I'm sorry Carolyn is moving away, but as you say that is no reason not to stay in touch. Nice sketches, all of them.

That was me who wrote that comment. Sorry it ran me as Anonymous!

I will forever think of this sweet post as "The Shoe Post". I love it. I hope you both stay in touch.

Time + space = change.
Change is hard.
Sorry.

Cute shoes, all of them. I'm sorry about Carolyn moving away, but there is Skype and that's good--just not good enough sometimes. It's hard to lose a friend.

So many memories...thanks, Celeste, for this beautiful post. I don't think of myself as a "shoe person," but you sure got my favorites. I may not make my move permanent, you know. Especially since I have such good friends in Portland. I'll take some time to explore my options. These shoes are made for exploring!!!!
