I put some finishing touches on the umbrella painting today, but I don't have it where I want it yet...so I left it to work on again tomorrow morning. I also touched up this painting, a colorful landscape. I'll be putting this one in a frame tomorrow also.
This is my former husband's cat Maxine. I'm cat-sitting her for a couple of weeks. She is extremely shy and stubborn, but she finally came out from under the bed and "hung out" with me today. I did a sketch of her, she rolled around looking cute and finally let me pet her. Red letter day!
Speaking of umbrellas, I seldom have one, but I could have used one today during our walk to and from Montavilla.
Well, this was my Monday......tell me, how was yours?

We had rain, but I tried to paint color and sun! You did beautifully with this color and it somehow reminds me of a Monet! Deep color and lovely edges.
I love your painting Celeste...the fire trees and yellow trees and that sky...such a glow.
Yay for brave Maxine! and yay for rain! :)
What wonderful colors in the landscape but I admit to being drawn to your little sketch of the cat which looked quite wonderful
I love the muted effect on the last two paintings you posted Celeste. Very, very nice!
My Monday went well. I finished two more cranberry bog paintings.
Today, Tuesday, started off with a great meteor shower! (No umbrella necessary!)
Paint on!

Oh what a beautiful landscape, Celeste! I love how the distant field is touched with pink of sunset. I wish I was slim like you, I tell you. The PNWers don't need no stinkin' umbrellas! LOL I remember hearing that you know you are not a true PNWer if you carry an umbrella. Umbrellas always give away who is a tourist versus a native. LOLOL So glad the cat finally emerged from her hiding place!
I never have the right rain gear either. Good score with Maxine and that landscape.
No arty happenings on Monday. Maybe today:)
These beautiful warm colors spell autumn to me.
I love the reflection of the sky in the water.
Your sketch of Maxine is wonderful. Glad she decided to allow you to be in her presence.
I like what the yellows and the pink horizon do to the landscape. You don't have an umbrella?! My impression of Portland is that it is raining all the time!
I love the variation on a theme, Celeste. The Green not entirely gone from your mood yet, thank goodness, and the autumnal colours are so beautifully rich. A lovely painting ... an, all is well in the world picture.
Winston Churchill said he wasn't keen on dogs - too subservient. He loved pigs - they treat us as equals ... but cats, he found, looked down on us as in inferiors beings ... they really are snobs aren't they? bless 'em!
Your work is just awesome. Very inspiring.
Celeste, beautiful colors, beautiful painting! Thank you for sharing your day with us!
Love the color of the sky and the sky holes.
I especially love the landscape painting - so luminous. Maxine looks adorable.
