At first I thought it was crazy hair blowing in the wind (all proper like). Now I see it is a hat. Either way, I love this!
Shades of Toulouse-Lautrec. Love the pose and the look in the eye! Why don't you do a full Moulin Rouge scene?
Oh so fabulous! Like Lisa, I also thought it was hair but with my monitor cannot see the edges. What a beauty and I love that the black and white and shades of gray are broken by her beautiful face. An amazing piece, Celeste. I love it!
That was the first thing I said-I love that hat! A subtle color palette-very nice:)
The hat makes a really dynamic shape. Love your edges too. The white on the far sleeve disappearing into the silver grey background made my heart beat faster with pleasure.
Love the look of Darkness and the expression on her face.
fantastic! i love this. the hat is wonderful and looks like a lot of fun to paint!
That hat! What a statement! I agree, the black makes it.
I thought Toulouse Latrec, also. I didn't see a beauty like this when I visited Boston's Beacon Hill. Beautiful painting.
You have such a talent for portraits. Love the skin tones and expression.
OMG. What with this craze for black? I love this Latrecesque for sure sketch. Lovely.
Beautiful combination of the warm skin tones to the cool black. Nice!
Wowee, stunning painting. Wish I had painted this.It has everything I adore, b+w, unusual composition, a gorgeous hat...magic.
Dynamic, elegant and wonderful!!
