Thursday!

Here is my rain painting from yesterday. My objective was to paint the big shapes and the "texture" of a heavy rain. I've been looking at a lot of paintings by Roos Schuring. (She sure captures the grays and wetness of where she lives!) I took this painting with me to share at today's art discussion meeting. To see what everyone else brought....go HERE.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Rain, oil on 7x9 gessoed panel

a simple, but big statement. less is more.

It's definitely raining cats and dogs. (I use rulers often in framing--learned it from my dad.)

Nicely done, Celeste!

Wow! Phenomenal. I could see someone making a lifetime series of these. I guess it is highly textured gesso that provides the strong impression of rain - quite a storm! Powerful!

I really like your art. This picture is fascinating, has been an abstraction, with a great sense. Have transmitted the spirit of the landscape. I know your blog thanks to Michel Perchard. I become a follower of your blog. Added you to the list of my blogs. I would like you you added me to your blog list if you do not have iconveniente. Thank you very much.
