This is something like the 4th "incarnation" of this painting. I changed it again today, and it is close to what I want...but not quite!
Today was Art Discussion Thursday and the topic was "Brushwork". Lots of interesting art turned up and plenty of ideas shared. Check it out HERE.
Painting: Celeste Bergin, After the Storm, oil on 20x24 stretched canvas

What a dramatic and fabulous sky. it sets the mood for the whole painting and you balanced everything (atmospherically) perfectly. That's a mouthful!
what else would you do to this? I think it is exactly right!
Gorgeous color and composition - so dramatic. The horizon is positioned perfectly to make the sky the focus. I love this one!
I realize this is not the same style as Remington painted but for some reason, I am getting that same sense...I wish I could explain myself better. I think it comes back to mood, something you expertly inject into each painting.
Great sky, congrats.
Celeste!
This "Incarnation" is very beautiful! It certainly is up to you but PLEASE don't change it! At least for a little while. Maybe start a similar one and save this gem! It is striking. The drama, the majesty, glory, and so much more. A great piece of art painted very well!
One of your best works!
(I love cloudscapes soooooo much!)
Your art buddy,
Michael
I like this work very much... magical light inside
nice. like the water.
This is such a powerful sky, Celeste.
I love the colors in this beautiful
painting!!
I like the diagonal swirl of the clouds contrasted against the dark, solid, horizon, Celeste!
Love the drama in this one, hope you don't change much, it's so easy to overwork a painting. This one is beautiful as it is.
You have such a range of style and mood. This is deep, dark and beautiful. How is Kat's Pitchers coming along ? Love your cow from last Mon.

Beautiful painting! The colors and Impressionistic quality of it reminds me a lot of some of Monet's paintings.
