I glazed a color over this painting today..I like the subtle change it made. I really enjoy the dark shapes linked together.
I had some Viridian left over on my palette, so I painted this boat over my failed cows from yesterday. It's just practice. Viridian is such a nice color!
My painting friend Za Vue teaches animation at the Art Institute of Portland. She gave me a tour today of the entire school (which is a beautiful place). This was my favorite photo from my visit. Za was explaining a storyboard of an animation that her students did.... and it has a risque ending. (More photos from my visit in the slideshow below). Thanks, Za!

I LOVE that pic of Za! I can hear her laugh in the photo!
Celeste!
I love the lady holding the umbrella! Love the darks and the very subtle movement!
I also love the viridian boat! I also loved the cow!
Thanks for posting your wonderful art so often!
Michael
I've been meaning to mention that I loved Za's window at home too. Did you notice the reflection on the wall in the photo you posted?
These two pieces are wonderful, Celeste. The glaze over the first piece changes the mood of the piece a bit and that boat? I love that piece and hope you don't paint over it!!
Maravillosas pinturas! Me fascina la de la mujer con el paraguas...tiene suavidad en las línes; estilización. Pero la barca solitaria es muy atrapante, sin duda.
Melancolía en ambas.
Abrazos y felicitaciones, Celeste.
Your paintings look good! I really like the top one. It's a dramatic.
Your day at AI Portland looks fun. What a great place!
I love both of these paintings, Celeste..especially the first one. I've always loved paintings with umbrellas...I can feel the wind blowing her over! LOL and that's a great picture of your friend..you can definitely hear her laughter!

Melancholy both.
Hugs and congratulations, Celeste.
(Thank you Maritza!)
Sudden Rain is beautiful; Viridian Boat soothes the soul--I love the dark in the foreground.
I so completely love the rain painting, the sinuous shape and how it extends across the whole surface, the color of the rain, the absolute feeling of movement both of the rain and the way she seems to be bracing the umbrella against the wind. The glimpse of her face, her skin. Can you tell I really like this one?! I also like Za without having met her and I remember and like her window too.

Nice paintings and the tour of the school was fun!
Your first painting, the dark lady with the umbrella caught my eye as I scrolled by, LOVE her!
