I went to two sessions at Studio 30 today. Our model wore a pretty poofy dress. In the morning I got a start on a floral. To see what the others did....go HERE.

She is lovely!
Love her nose - really protrudes and mine don't always do so I admire it when I see it done well. The still life colors are a knockout. I LOVE this still life!
Celeste, you are a master at painting mood and emotion in your pieces. I see it in both of these...or should I say I feel it? More accurate. I love that rich background color in the floral piece!
Wonderful portrait, Celeste and its always nice to see how everyone else did!!
I find the model painting interesting. You painted her without the background. I can't do that. The background always demands my consideration, for that's what makes the model sit comfortably with regards to values which parts come forward, which fall back. Interesting way of seeing.
Lovely portait. Will you give it a background eventually?
Lovely portrait. Will you give it a background?
The magic in the portrait is the soft features...not telling us everything..you are a beautiful painter
Very interesting work, Celeste. I love what you do with painting the models at Studio 30. I wish I had been there with you.
thank you Linda, Julie, Sherry, hmuxo, L.W., Sheryl, Page, and Carolyn!
L.W....I meant to put in a background, I just devoted so much time to everything else I never put it in. I agree with you, portraits need backgrounds.
Sheryl, I probably won't finish this, but maybe I will, to see how the background changes it.
Thanks all for taking the time to comment! :)
