This painting is a re-do of an old painting at Sauvie Island. (I added warmer darker shadows.)
In honor of the Superbowl (not really) I decided to clean out my wallet.
No sooner had I dumped it all out ...when Mister Mufasa decided to come lay down right on top of it.
Once I moved the cat and straightened out my wallet I went to Hood River to visit the Columbia Art Gallery. There is a really pretty show there this month..."The Blues" (predominately blue art).

It was fun checking out all the different ways the artists interpreted "Blues"
...and this is Mt. Adams...(taken in the Egg Harbor/Hood River parking lot). How's that for blue! Later I watched the Superbowl when it really counted, at the end of the day. Did your team win?

Celeste, can I borrow your talent for a minute? Your redo painting is beautiful...the peak of turquoise in the sky mixed with the other rich colors is incredible.

At least Mufasa left you the money. My cats do this same type of thing. Not a huge football fan but since my team (Bears) weren't playing, I'm glad the Ravens won. Love the landscape redo but I'm sure I loved it just as more before you reworked it too. (I know how I am with your art!) Funny to see Mt. Hood all covered in snow and the closer mountains not so much. Goes to show perspective and how far in the distance and how high that mountain really is!

It's so lovely when suddenly we know what a painting needs and it comes together with the addition and moves into the outstanding category. That's this landscape of yours.
The photo of Mt. Adams is spectacular. Art on it's own.
My dog used to lay himself down in the middle of a wet canvas when he thought it was time for me to quit and feed him; pushy animal.You obviously were too engrossed in cleaning out your wallet and weren't paying Mufasa enough attention. Bad pet owner. Shame on you. :-))

I love the colors in your re-do. It is a beautiful painting. I am also blown away by the Mt. Adams photo. What a painting that would make! Mufasa has this challenging expression on hood face. "So?" he's asking. His team must not have won.
