Thursday!

This morning I went to our art discussion meeting at O'Connors. Afterwards Loretta and I went to a lecture/demonstration by Ruben Arizpe at the Oregon Society of Artists. On the drive home I called Dave and found out he had walked to Albina Press on Hawthorne. This happens to be on my route! I saw a great parking space out front and joined him for one more cup of coffee. We talked about Arizpe's lecture. I like this photo Dave took of me...I'm "drawing in my mind's eye" ....and my car is in the background.

To see what everyone brought to the meeting....go HERE.

There are never enough good coffee drinking pics! This is one of those. Glad you had a fine day.

Hi Celeste,
We just finished dinner on the lanai, watching planes depart for other islands and other countries. I gotta tell you, it's pretty great.
But, enough about us. Great photo by hubby Dave. Now, do me a favor, don't let Dave see this and don't mention it. It is a fine photo, but I was thinking of a portrait and the mug could maybe be moved away a little, so your face, with that wonderful expression, would have full value, the mug taking a supporting role.
But, hey, what do I know. I'm not a photographer and I'm sure Dave knew exactly what he was doing.
Anyway, why do you have so many clothes on? Isn't it 76-degrees, with just a hint of a breeze?
Just kidding, I know it's beautiful in Portland now and that you're enjoying it to the hilt.
Enjoy your tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Gary.

I wish I had artist friends around like you do, Celeste. But you know what, I agree with your comment on my last post. It is pretty much the way I've thought all along. Probably starting my own group is the right way to go. I just don't know how to go about it. Anyway, your day sounds fun like always and you had a perfect way to end the day!

I do so love going out and about with you. Sort of like virtual traveling. Glad you had a good day:)

Definitely a future painting, Celeste.! It's funny how we seem to visualize drawing in our minds wherever we go!!!

I admire the way you get out and about and stay stimulated by your visits with different art friends. My life is boring by comparison.
This is a great pic and would make a good painting. I would love to try it. Would you let any of us have a go at it? make it a mini challenge maybe?

Where's that Mini-Cooper, Celeste?

And I really like Julie Ford Oliver's suggestion...
