Thursday!

This is the painting that I took to Art Discussion at O'Connor's today. Rain paintings are usually done in blues and grays--but I painted this in warm colors instead. To see what everyone else brought....go HERE.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Letting up, oil on 9x12 canvas panel

Raining through sunshine is a phenomenon that has just this type of light and it is so pretty! Good use of colors, Celeste, and one that provides a whole different sort of mood.

No IHOP for me this weekend. We went last weekend and I had the omelette. Time before that I did have the red velvet pancakes though.

I like that you didn't do the expected blues and grays. (Knew I would right?) The color choices put a totally different spin on the atmosphere of the rain. A good spin!

I remember this one! I enjoy the implied rain of the brushwork

It looks like the sun is just coming out after a shower. Nice.

I love your rain paintings--and this one is a nice switch in that you chose the warm colors of a sunshower--of which we are getting more than our share this year. Thanks again for your kind comment on my new blog.

Looks just right to me with the warm colors, Celeste. I use an umbrella as a sunshade every day here in sunny New Mexico. Love, love, love this one!

Love this. We had storms last night and the light was just as you've painted.
