Saturday!

What better way to spend Saturday afternoon than at the 'Bad Art Destruction Party' hosted by Carol Marine? The idea was to bring some failed paintings to completely deface and destroy them (collectively). We had some help from the youngsters in attendance and all of our bad art is headed to the dump. Great cathartic fun! Slideshow below (direct link to photos HERE).

I think I like the idea of painting over them better! LOL That said, it still looks and sounds like a fun party! Nice way to spend a Saturday too.

I paint over things, but oh my, what a good idea. I think there is great wisdom in doing this together as a celebration.

Wow! Good for you! Must have been exhilarating!
Love your art blog! It is one of the most upbeat and art filled blogs on line!
At the MFA the other day in Boston, thought of you while I was checking out all the great art by Sargent!
Take care buddy!

There you all are - some of the top artists destroying work a lot of people would think is wonderful. I admire you all for doing it. Having a high standard is a great point to get across. Envy you having personal time with one of my favorite artists - Carol Marine. What an extraordinary talent and super human being she is.

Interesting party. I did this once with sculptures--my son said he is still finding arms and legs all around his backyard.

Celeste,
Forgot to mention I destroyed some huge steel sculptures I made many years ago! Very exhilarating and quite freeing.
Hallie's post reminded me! Thanks Hallie!
