Thursday!

It was art discussion day at O'Connors today. To see what we all talked about.....go HERE.

After the meeting Za showed us her Soltek easel. She set it up in seconds....and it folds back down into a lovely slim lightweight box. So slick! So tempting!

Love the yellows in this one. I've definitely seen similar sunsets too. Beautiful piece, Celeste. If you want the new easel, I say go for it!

Hi Celeste,
I remember long ago, seeing an ad for the Soltek portable easel and, like you, was very, very tempted to order one. The price made it a little easier to say "no".
Nice to see they're still around, as I would have thought technology might have passed them by, by now.
I have no idea what they cost now, but I doubt I'd...wel-l-l...maybe I would get one. After all, this is a new place and I'm trying to paint differently and maybe a little plein air work should be on the agenda! You just never know!
Take care and keep making such nice art!
Sincerely,
Gary.

Beautiful Thursday painting!

I've had a Soltek for six years--I store it in my car for Thursdays at the Y. It was my 45th anniversary gift to me from me. Rationalization: 45 years of housework at $10 per year, plus shipping. That's cheap.

I use it, too, if I speak to a group about art. I'm more comfortable having them look at my work instead of at me. It's easy to carry and set up.

Celeste I love the colors you used in "Hood River Moon!" The entire piece is a feast for the eye!
I love your art group posts. I am going to bring up some of your art discussion topics in my art association. Also change our meetings to restaurants and such more often!
Great posts!
Michael

Lovely painting! I like the primary color palate. It gives it such vibrancy.

Dramatic sky. I have a Soltek easel. It has a big footprint, but that's what makes it so stable. Get one if you want one. You won't regret it.
