Here is a sketch of another Sargent portrait to add to my Sargent project. Sargent painted over 900 I could probably keep this up for years.

I went for a walk in the rain today. This is where I usually wind Montavilla. It was a gloomy day.'s this for more gloom..a bride inexplicably left in a yard beyond Halloween. I'm photographing her. Ah...Portland!  I blame Grimm.

Puddle! What would Audrey Hepburn do ---yeah----she'd leap over this!

Audrey would have certainly have made a better calculation. I'll try again next walk (it's going to rain all week)! :)

Thats my was yours??

The Sargent sketches are great. This one is especially pretty. Your puddle jump is so funny!

I LOVE splashing through puddles! Especially if it is halfway warm outside. Anyway, I so love the strength and mood of charcoal. I've never been able to do much with charcoal besides make a mess! I think your Sargent series is so masterful, Celeste, truly.

Hi Celeste,
How could I not make a comment about this?! The chilly rain, the overflowing drain, an umbrella and all those clothes...sure takes me back. :)
Nice work on the Sargent copies. You must be learning a lot from the effort as they show unmistakeable qualities of his work.
Have a good day tomorrow and try to keep your feet dry! :)

900 paintings? Yah, that could take awhile:)

Those puddles look very fun. Audrey may have even had heels on:)

I was wondering if I could use that last shot as a photo reference? It would make a great painting. Can you let me know if it is OK?

Ha, looked so drenched! But it doesn't matter as you also look like you were having fun. My day? Got the awful cold virus going around the the USA; fifth straight day on the sofa looking through the window at the sunshine. BUT GETTING BETTER!

The sketch is wonderful, Celeste, and inspiring. One could learn a lot copying Sargent's work.

I love the glimpse into your day, too, Lady. Both the abandoned bride on the lawn and your puddle jumping brought smiles. Thanks for sharing.

I love your Sargent sketches, Celeste...I can't wait till the next one!!! Splashing over those puddles would make an excellent painting as well. Great photos.

When this post came through my email, I just smiled and smiled! I loved the photo story and your humor just shines.
When you jumped over the puddle, I thought, Oh No! She won't make it!
Then sure enough, you post the picture where you didn't. And I love you even more for that.

Have I told you lately that you are my favorite painter? You are!
