Saturday!

Do you have paintings of your own....that you especially like? This is one of mine. It's from the past, but since I don't have a new painting, I thought it would be ok to re-post/re-visit this one. I like how there is so little specific in it...it's inexplicably dreamy.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Alley (2011), oil on 8x6 gessoboard (SOLD)

I am a romantic so it is natural I would love the mood and colors in this one. The edges are great too!

No wonder it's a favourite of yours.

Wow, the contrasts between the warm colours of this and the cold colours of the last! I would be proud to have done either.

You can almost hear 'The Four Seasons' playing in the background as you painted them.

My stuff is still very tight & prescriptive, but, with many years of practice I may one day paint with your expressive freedom. So until then My background music will Military Brass Bands! :0)

Bring the past back more often Celeste. This is super lovely; very rich and tonal.

It's moody in a really great way. And those are my colors to boot!

That's what makes this painting so very inviting, Celeste!
The power of suggested detail rules!
It's beautiful.

I agree with your comment on this being dreamy. And I've been telling you for years you paint mood better than anyone and I see so many others picking up on that too. This one makes me want to be on a window seat in a room that has a nice fire going...I can see out the window the lowering skies and puddles of rain water...
