Thursday!

Our art discussion group met today and the suggested topic was painting from memory or imagination. I don't do much of that..but I gave it a whirl (for the sake of the discussion).

This painting has to do with a memory I have of being brought (as a child) to a Catholic hospital at night. To see what everyone else brought....go HERE.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Nun in the hallway, oil on 9x12 canvas panel

I remember having my tonsils out at Little Company of Mary and seeing the nuns there. Guess you do not have to be Catholic to go to a Catholic hospital. Love the heavenly light around her!! Wouldn't this be lovely hanging in an Order?

A nun wearing this habit always pulls me in. I think it must be the strong contrast. I'm impressed that you can paint from memory! Very nice!

That's would be a strong memory and it had to be rewarding putting it into paint.

Remarkable and from memory too.
It would make a great fundraising print, Celeste.

A reminder of a different time. Is it a good memory? I sort of can't tell!
