Thursday

This is a painting I started and did not complete. It's funny...I like it exactly where it is and I'm comfortable leaving it here. Maybe I like the contrast between the colorful area and the blank area...or maybe I like the resolved area next to the unresolved area. I'm just happy leaving it as is.

I went to art discussion today....so see what everyone brought....go HERE.

Painting: Celeste Bergin, Unfinished, oil on 10x8 stretched canvas

I think your instinct is right on. If you are comfortable with it, then it is done. And I love it.

I love this painting - it's beautiful! The "unfinished" part shows what you were thinking and the 'bones' of the painting - really nice!

I agree with Helen: if you think it is finished, it is. Don't proceed unless YOU change your mind.

I am glad you are feeling better. Could it be that the lower part of the painting and the lower part of you are healing, resting?

Unfinished Completed
This is lovely,
you are painting a painting,
not painting a photograph,
the flowers have arrived
and you are inviting
us viewers to enjoy
them and not be
distracted by the
foreground;
you have
set the table well,
the finishing touch.
